Have I mentioned how much I *love* needles? Shudders
And then just to cap off the silly season, I got Covid for Christmas. No, I'm serious. Best guess, I was infected on Christmas Day when I was at a family lunch. My cousin and I both started showing symptoms a couple of days afterwards.
The good news is that since I've been vaccinated and boosted, I haven't got anywhere close to dangerously sick. It feels a lot like I've got a pretty nasty cold, but no more traumatic than that. And I'm definitely on the mend now.
So I spent my New Year's Eve in quarantine at the family home. But my mom has been isolating with me. And, thanks to a NYE care package from some very kind friends, we rang it in with pink champagne and caviar anyway.
It felt like a poetic justice kind of end to 2021.
