😍 House Envy 😍

Dear Reader,

I love looking at houses. Many hours spent viewing HGTV will back this up. I think it's because a house is a reflection of the people living in it. Is it neat? Is it messy? Does it seem more expensive than the people living in it should be able to afford? Or is it surprisingly modest considering their wealth?

All the Prince brothers's homes say something about them. Cameron's empty showroom of an apartment demonstrated how disconnected he was from his home life before he met Cyn. Maison des Roses--the old, rose-covered, Parisian mansion Dominic bought and renovated--revealed the surprisingly responsible man hiding beneath his playboy antics. And Ash's isolated rooftop garden showed the rich inner life that existed beneath his quiet facade.

Plus it's fun to fake shop for multi-million dollar real estate. And this time I get to go shopping in the Hamptons.

I knew from the start that I wanted Tristan's book to be a Hamptons adventure. I've spent quite a bit of time there over the last couple of years. It's a beautiful place. See the photo below as proof and ignore the way the idiot photographer has something stuck in her teeth,

Plus if there's one thing you should know about the Hamptons, it's that they have great houses. And in this book I'm not just shopping for Tristan's home, I also had to find the inspiration for the Prince family compound.

And now with no further ado... the house porn!

This is the inspiration for Tristan's Hamptons beach cottage. It's a converted fisherman's shack and if you want to read about the real property there's a great article here.

It's the perfect tiny yet lux property for Tristan to escape to when he wants to get some writing done. And in the Prince universe, it's located right on the edge of the Prince family compound.

The Prince family compound is based on a 42-acre estate called Jule Pond that was built for Henry Ford's grandson. It's a huge, jaw-droppingly beautiful estate that seems like the perfect background for Prince family fun and theatrics.
