Dear Reader,
It's been a busy week this week.
I
organized a scavenger hunt for Ms Melinda's birthday that took her all over town. Mr Melinda was my enthusiastic co-conspirator, and between us we crafted a trail of clues that led her to her favorite coffee shop, an escape room, an ice cream parlor, and a fancy restaurant for a fabulous steak dinner. We also hid her birthday presents around the house and watched her search for them with glee.
Ms Melinda seemed to have a blast which was the most important thing.
As soon as the birthday festivities concluded, it was back to the word mines. My current WIP--tentatively titled You Are My Favorite Bad Idea--is coming along nicely.
YAMFBI is a bit different from the Prince books. It's a single POV,
first person romance, and, as I've mentioned before, it's actually a rewrite of my first novel that was published in 2014 by Penguin Random House Australia. I got my rights back late last year and was just going to republish it in KDP. But I've learned a few things in the last nearly ten years (😱!!!😱) and decided to give it the book equivalent of a renovation.
And I'm really hoping this book doesn't follow the trend of most renovations - over budget, over stressed, and over time!
But so far everything is going (mostly) according to plan. And to give you a little taste of what that plan is... If I was going to sum YAMFBI's story up in one sentence, it would be: She may
have given up on love but love hasn't given up on her.
I hope you're intrigued!
There will be more updates in future newsletters. (And don't worry as soon as I'm done with YAMFBI,
Shane's story is next in the book queue!)
