The lights were off inside my room and Hunter was in bed. He lay with his back facing my side. But he wasnât asleep yet.Â
   He was also
naked.
An involuntary smile twitched my lips and the tight knot of tension in my throat eased. Gee, how was I going to crack that code?
Luke wanted to know why I was with Hunter? It
had a lot to do with how even if he had been frustrated with me tonight, Hunter was still here.
   He wanted to make up.
He wanted us to share a bed tonight and wake up together in the morning.
   He flat out wanted me.
For someone whoâd spent most of her life in love with someone who hadnât loved her back, it made a really nice change.
   I slid into
bed beside Hunter and ran my hands over the warm soft skin of his back.
He shifted away from me and grumbled, âCold hands.â
I pressed myself against him and nipped at his shoulder blade. âYou donât want to help me warm them up?â As I asked, I slid my arms slid around him and traced teasing circles on his stomach.
 Â
Each one went lower and lower.
   Hunterâs breath hitched.
I grinned and pulled back. âBut I can stop if youâd like.â
âNo!â He caught my retreating hands and slid them lower. âThey can stay.â
âAre you sure?â I asked him, unable to keep the laughter out of my voice. âI mean I wouldnât want you to if youâre not interested.â
   âBrat.â The
bed shifted as Hunter rolled over, his hands pinned mine to the mattress and he pressed his body against mine. âIâm interested.â
âYou are?â I wiggled and grinned up at him. âIt does feel that way. But I want you to be sure this is what you want.â
âIâm sure,â he breathed into my ear and kissed me like meant it. When he drew back we were both breathless. The frustration in his eyes had been replaced by something tender. âI always want you.â
My heart twisted in my chest, both painful and sweet.
Yeah, thatâs why I was with him.
