I am currently writing this newsletter from a car dealership. It is hour three into the repair with no timeline of when we
might be done. There is a toddler crying softly in the background. They are probably tears of sheer frustration at being stuck here and I'm with the poor kid.
Eternity stretches on before me, punctuated by horn honks and the occasional car alarm as the diagnosticians work their magic. Or take an extended smoke break. Who knows?
The patient author waits patiently.
Okay, so in reality, I have no cause to complain. This dealership is spacious and air conditioned with comfy chair and plentiful snacks. The bathrooms are nice and, more importantly, clean! Most of the time I quite enjoy working here when it's time to bring the car in for a tune up.
But it's funny about how having no end time makes time seem to stretch on endlessly. And taxes patience, of which I have so very much. No, I'm not impatient at aaaaaaall 😂
But at least I have the edits for You Are My Favorite Bad Idea to keep me company as
I wait...
