I wrote a really fun scene in Project Candlelight this week.
It's one of those scenes where I type and grin to myself as I imagine how readers will react to it. If you've read the big party scene towards the end of You Are My Favorite Bad Idea, know I grinned a lot as I wrote that.
Â
FYI, this is a rough
transcript taken from one of my last phone calls with my mother.
Â
MUM: So when's are you going to be finished with the book [Project Candlelight]?
ME: March, I think. It should be done before I come home to visit you.
MUM: *makes surprised/skeptical noise* You mean the word count hasn't blown out yet?
ME: *glances at word count and voice rises to much higher pitch* No. Why would you ask that?
MUM: Because your word count always blows out, Edwina. Don't worry. You'll have plenty of time to work on it while you're here.
Â
RUDE! I will totally done with it by March.Â
Â
(And, yes, I'm choosing ignoring the Freudian
slip I made above where I accidentally typed in May.)
